Trial Match Squad

The following boys have been selected in the trial match squad for the ACC representative cricket team. The boys will be required to attend an intra-squad trial match on Friday 2nd March at Hale School. Following the trial match a final team of 12 will be selected to represent the ACC against the combined government schools team on the WACA on Monday 26th March.

The trial match on the 2nd March is an all day affair and the match will be played at Hale school (on turf wicket). Players are to meet at the cricket pavilion by 9.00am for a 9.30am match start. Players should arrange pick up for approx 4.00pm. The entry to Hale School is located off Hale Road in Wembley Downs. Drive into the main entrance and keep to your right and drive all the way around until you get to the cricket ovals and cricket pavilion. The match will be played on field Brine 1 to the north of the pavilion. A map of Hale school is attached.

Players should wear whites and their school PE top, to assist with player ID for selection. Players are to bring all their own personal cricket equipment. Lunch will be provided but players should bring drinks and some extra snacks. Turf wicket shoes should be worn for the match, but players should also pack some normal sports shoes. In case of rain the match maybe relocated to a hard wicket at Newman College, but only as a fall back measure.

The trial squad will be trimmed down to the final 12 for the match against the combined Gov schools at the WACA on the 26th March.

It is essential that all players contact the coach of the team (Mr Oliver Beath – All Saints’ College) to confirm their commitment to the squad and their attendance at the trial match. Players that are unavailable to attend the trial match due to injury or other reasons need to contact the coach ASAP. Mr Oliver Beath: email: Oliver.Beath@allsaints.wa.edu.au ; W: 9313 9333; Mobile: 0411 018 939

Schools and players need to make arrangements now for their absence from school on the day of the trial. Players are to be reminded that they are representing their school, and the trial match is an official school and ACC activity, as such their attendance is compulsory unless prior notification has been given to the coach.
