At the ACC Council of Principals meeting on the 29th August 2019, the Council adopted a Position Statement on Inclusion and Diversity in Sport.

The statement is a guiding position that the Association will use when dealing with any matters of equal opportunity relating to gender inclusion in sport.

The primary guiding principle will be to ensure that the rights and well-being of the individual child are protected and that every child is treated with dignity and respect on an individual basis.

The ACC statement also refers to the recently released Guidelines for the inclusion of transgender and gender diverse people in sport, published by the Australian Human Rights Commission. These comprehensive guidelines were developed as a joint initiative of the AHRC, Sport Australia and a coalition of major sports in Australia. These guidelines will serve as a good reference point when dealing with matters relating to gender diversity and inclusion in sport.
